Your trip starts with a safari that takes in some of the most iconic natural reserves in the world: Tarangire National Park, the Ngoro Ngoro caldera that will remind you of the original Garden of Eden, and the Serengeti. You will enjoy a variety of accommodation types to give you the best experience: treetop bungalows, colonial stye lodges, and luxury tented camps in the middle of the migration. Your tented camp will be located in the northern Serengeti, ideal at this time of year to see the great migration.
The trip will conclude with a flight to the dreamy island of Zanzibar for some downtime on the sandy white beaches in a beautiful resort hotel, and including a guided tour of Stonetown.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 July 13Arrival in Kilimanjaro International Airport, Arusha, known as the safari capital of northern Tanzania, and resting at the foot of Mount Meru. Transfer and checkin at the Gran Melia Arusha. Enjoy the beautiful hotel pool, before a short excursion to the Central Masai Market. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 2 July 14
After breakfast, meet your guides and begin the safari with a drive towards Tarangire National Park (2 hours drive). Tarangire is known for the diversity of wildlife that can be spotted, but also for its spectacular baobab trees. Large herds of elephants and migratory wildebeest, as well as zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest and eland gather here. If you’re in luck you’ll also spot lions and the elusive leopard. Picnic lunch during the game drive. Overnight and dinner at the Tarangire Kuro Treetops Lodge.
Day 3 July 15After breakfast, drive towards Ngorongoro (2 hours) for a game drive and wildlife watching with picnic lunch. This amazing and vast volcano caldera is a Conservation Area where animals and Masai settlements co-exist. With its lakes, landscapes, and huge diversity of animals, it will feel like the original Garden of Eden and is a definite highlight of the trip. Dinner and overnight at the Oldeani Ngorongoro Lodge.
Day 4 July 16On this day you will cross from Ngorongoro into the vast and iconic Serengeti. Drive all the way to the northern part of the national park, where the great migration is located at this time of the year. Picnic lunch along the way, and dinner and overnight at the Acacia Migration Camp located in Kogatende.
Day 5 July 17You will stay in the same camp this day, which will be dedicated to a full-day game drive exploring the Serengeti, the most famous park of all of Africa. With an area of more than 15,000 square kilometers, it is the setting for the huge animal migrations. This picture-perfect landscape is characterised by endless stretches of savannah-covered open plains interspersed by rocky outcrops of granite and scattered with acacia woodlands and a network of rivers and streams. It provides an ideal habitat for a variety of wildlife such as zebras, wildebeest, giraffe, impala, waterbuck, hippo, buffalo, elephant, lion, leopard, hyena, jackal, serval and much more. . Picnic lunch, and special bush dinner at the Camp.
Optional Extra Activity: Early morning hot air balloon ride.
Day 6 July 18After breakfast, a short drive to the airstrip for your flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival, transfer to Pongwe and checkin at the Toa Zanzibar Resort. Enjoy some time on the beautiful pool and beach before the transfer and dinner at The Rock, the iconic restaurant in Zanzibar.
Day 7 July 19Relaxing morning at the hotel to enjoy the facilities, before taking an excursion to Stonetown for a guided visit of this eclectic multi-layered town. Some shopping time and sunset drinks at Africa House, before heading back to the hotel for dinner. As an option, those who wish may stay later in Stonetown for dinner on their own.
Day 8 July 20Checkout and transfer to Zanzibar airport for departure.

Price Options

The price per person in double occupancy is US$ 5550.

Price per child  in triple occupancy (under 13 years old) is US$ 3350.

Please note that children above 13 years old are considered adult; however they can share a room in order to avoid the extra cost of single occupancy.

This price is based on a group size of 19. A smaller group size might result in variations in the price.

  • Any activity not mentioned above, including optional private taxi rides in Zanzibar if needed.

Payment and Terms

Hotel reservations are provisional and cannot be guaranteed later than end of day  7 April .

Terms

1- To confirm the reservation, a downpayment of 30% is requested. Balance of payment is requested by June 1.
2- Due to the short timeframes and high season, cancellations are subject to a 30% penalty upto 3 months in advance, and upto 75% one month in advance of trip date or less. However, every effort will be made to reduce the penalties and provide credit towards a future trip.
